The six Western Dioceses (the Tuam Province) have planned a new initiative as part of the ongoing response to the pastoral challenge presented by COVID-19. One of the important Gospel stories of these Easter days is the account of how the two disciples met the Risen Jesus on the road to Emmaus and how they asked him: “Stay With Us Lord ; it is almost Evening”. With this in mind, we are inviting you to join us for a short (20 min.) Reflection, each Sunday evening at 6.30 pm between now and Pentecost. This Sunday 101h May, Sr Aine Barrins rsm (Ballinasloe) will give the reflection live from St Brendan’s Cathedral, Loughrea www.churchservices.tv/ loughrea
Every vocation brings with it a responsibility. The Lord calls us because he wants to enable us, like Peter, to “walk on water”, in other words, to take charge of our lives and place them at the service of the Gospel, in the concrete and everyday ways that he shows us, and specifically in the different forms of lay, priestly and conse crated vocation. Yet, like Saint Peter, 01.1r desire and enthusiasm coexist with our failings and fears. (Pope Francis)
Stay with us Lord; for it is almost Evening
